Worm-like Movement In Ears And Throat, Warm In The Head, Need To Use Cold Towel, Scans No Help. Causes For This Discomfort?

my mother has been feeling this worm-like movement in her ears and then throat , and this causes her head to be warm needing to use cold towel a number of times for relief. But the crawl in her ears makes her feel very sick. It has been on and off for some years, been checked and gone through several scans but nothing concrete has been said so far. What could possible be causing this discomfort. She is 69 years

Hi. As the scans are negative, this may suggest a patulous/ weak Eustachian tubes causing this feeling of worm like movement first in the ears and then throat. Another possibility is enlarged tubal tonsils , they are at the inner ends of Eustachian tubes. An endoscopy can diagnose this.
