Will Urinary Infection In A Pregnant Woman Cause Any Harm To The Fetus?

i am 39 weeks pregnant and just got a urine test done in which i have urine infection. still waiting for the urine culture result but the doctor has prescribed me augmentin 1g twice a day. i have been having discharge problem during the last 2 months the doctor did a HVS culture and sensitivity test but in the result no pathogen was found. now when i wipe i see white/yellowish/ slight greenish discharge. please i am really concerned as to wether the infection is going to harm my baby in these last stages.

Hello dear,I understand your concern.In my opinion urine infections and vaginal infections are common in pregnancy.These might be the cause for preterm labour.But as you have crossed 37 weeks the risk of preterm labour is no more .So dont worry.It might not cause any problem to fetus.Take appropriate antibiotics suggested by your doctor.Take adequate fluids upto 2 to 3 litres.
