Will Uricalm Affect A Urine Test?

I think that I have a UTI, I have had one before, the same urge to urinate, burning sensation, blood in urine, etc. I have out off going to the Dr. and have been drinking 100% cranberry juice and taking Uricalm to numb the burning sensation. It is really effective though I can tell it is still not wuite right when I pee. I am going to the Dr. today and wanted to know if the Uricalm would effect any tests done on my urine sample?

Thanks for using healthcaremagic.I understand your concern.
Brief answer: Yes.It can interfere with the urine analysis.
Detailed answer: If i were your physician, would advise you to avoid uricalm(phenazopyridine) 24 hours before the urine test and consume lot of fluids. In my opinion it may cause false positive results for nitrites(nonspecific indicator of urinary tract infection),urobilinogen levels and alter the biochemical parameters requiring spectroscopy to find out in urine tests.Hope this information helps you.Take care.
