Will The Placenta Move Up Normally As Time Passes?

Hi, I am 39 years old; I am 12 weeks and 3 days pregnant as per the scan report. My last LMP was on 25th April 2014. I have done a ultra sound on 24th July and the findings are as follows: Fetal Heart: activity - normal; HR - 157 bpm; fetal movement present. Presentation at the time of scanning: Cephalic. Amniotic fluid-normal; Placenta: posterior covering the os, grade 1 maturity. Subchorionic bleed of 3.1 x 2.5 cm noted.Impression: Placenta previa with subchorionic bleed. This is my 3rd pregnancy. 1st c-section due to breach, second normal. 1st child is 13 years and second child 9 years.I require clarification for the following please: Will the placenta move up normally as time passes by; what are the precautions to be taken. Will there be any complications to the baby. what does this Cephalic mean. Do I need to do more test and follow up and if so when shall I do. Will the subchorinic bleed absolve of its own. What are the chances of bleeding again. Is there a tear between the placenta and the uterus, and is it the reason for the bleed. Please respond with your valuable comments and suggestions. I would appreciate that.

welcome to Health care magic.
1.The placenta generally moves up as the weeks pass.
2.In your case its bit complicated, by the impression they have given. But you may continue. You need to be little more conscious, good followup, any spotting pain see your doctor and get Ultrasound done.
3.Yes the bleed you had was due to the subchorionic bleed. It does resolve on its own depending on how big and maternal health (BP,Any systemic causes)
4.Cephalic presentation means head of the baby towards vaginal / cervical side which is good for pregnancy, but you have to consider after 30 - 32 weeks and above cephalic is good, now of no use ab baby position keep on changes.
5.Take a good followup, handle with care, good rest. wall the best !!
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
