Will The Penis Pain With Hematuria Heal By Itself?

Hello! I recently went to the lab to get blood work and urine tests done, when I did the urine test I had pinched my penis after letting some out to place to cup to collect urine, it was quick and caused a little pain, I placed the sample there and left, 5 hours later at home I went again and it hurt for a quick second again as I went, then was okay to finish, and I stood up and saw a piece of dry blood and a very tiny amount of blood in the urine, so I m kinda concerned about going again, will it stop? Is it just gonna heal on it s own?

Hello,

I am assuming that you went for blood work and urine analysis for the diagnosis of possible urinary tract infection. If that is the case, you may have blood in urine and pain in penis until the treatment is started for the possible infection. You can take a painkiller available over-the-counter like Acetaminophen 500 m or Ibuprofen 400 mg.

Once you will be started in treatment after the test results, the pain and bleeding will subside. If the bleeding is increased to the point that it is continuous and not stopping, then you should seek immediate help of a doctor.

I hope this answer helps. Thank you for choosing HCM for your concern. I wish you feel better soon!

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
