Will The Depression Be Due To The Intake Of Savella With Celexa?

my daughter is taking Celexa hydrobromide and Savella and she has been very depressed. She cannot sleep and she cries a lot. She is very restless at night and during the day she stays on the couch all day. She cannot talk without crying. This is very unusual for her. She started this when she started taking the Savella with the Celexa. My email address is YYYY@YYYY .

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Celexa is Citalopram and Savella is Milnacipran. Celexa is SSRI drug and Milnacipran is SNRI drug. Even with these drugs her symptoms are persisting and she remain restless through out the day. She cries throughout the day and have significant deterioration of symptoms after starting these medicines. I would advise you to consult her doctor again for proper treatment. If these medicines are not working then in my opinion these drugs should be stopped and other more potent medicines like Mirtazapine can be used. The drug will help help to control her symptoms and will help in good sleep also. Drugs like Amisulpiride can also be used. The drug is an antipsychotic drug and have excellent results in negative symptoms of depression. Visit her doctor for prescription of these drugs.
