Will The Birth Control Pill Affect Fetus In Case Of Pregnancy?
please assist. I took two tablets of postinor 3days after unprotected sex while ovulating. Its time for my monthly flow and yet no flow nor menstrual symtomps. I suspect am pregnant. Now i am worried if the drug will have any effect on the foetus if am actually pregnant.
Hello dear user of HCM! Thank you for asking as and sharing your concerns!
I understand the stressful situation in you are in. Have you done any pregnancy test until now? Have you any of pregnancy symptoms that you are suspecting?
Your delayed periods are not very likely to be due to pregnancy but due to your emergency pill you have taken to prevent pregnancy. Sometimes these drugs may have side effect like this one you are having (menstrual cycle disorder).
Anyway i would recommend you to have a pregnancy test to rule out any possible very rare pregnancy after two tablets of postinor. Postinor tablets are used to make the womb inappropriate for conceiving a baby, so the chances of a pregnancy are very very low.
Take care and I wish you a good health! DR ERIOL.
