Will Taking Steroids Cause Joint Pain?

my wife is asthmatic patient and we had check with a Pulmonologist. He prescribed Formonide 400mg (daily) and Rupamax M (when severe allergy SOS). Now she has been taking this course for last 8-10 months. One Inhaler per day is essential for her.
But now she has started feeling Joint pains (specially in Knees), excessivel hair fall also. She is also taking Thyroxin 50 mg daily (TSH 5.4) . What could be the reason for Joint pain, whether this is due to Steroids in Formonide or this is due to Thyroid. She is 32 years of age only.

Request your advice , please so that she may live without much pains for her whole life.

Hi,

I have gone through your query.

Steroids are main culprit behind joint pains in your case.

You should again consult your doctor to replace it with other medications otherwise steroids will destroy the joints completely.

I hope you have got your answer.

Thanks.

Dr.Singh.
