Will Taking Levothyroxin For Hypothyroidism Affect Pregnancy?

Hi, My name is Pr,na and having hypothyroid and trying to conceive. I take levothyroxin 25 mcg daily..My thyroid is 7.470. Research says a TSH over 3 (us lab values) can increase your chance of miscarriage and the child developing ADHD or a lower IQ. It can also effect ovulation and make it harder to get pregnant. Pls help.

Hi. Yes, it is true what you have known regarding hypothyroidism. But it can not be the only reason for not to conceive. If you are trying to conceive you should get yourself investigated and work upon that, including getting your husband tested
For how long you are on this dose of thyroxin. If more than 6 weeks, get you test repeated and give FT4, TSH this time and consult your dr,who may increase the dose for you and keep TSH around 3.5 or so.Don't worry it is possible to conceive with hypothyroidism and to have healthy baby.
Good luck and thanks.
