Hello,
Any anti-epileptic therapy is not considered safe in pregnancy. There are risks of neural tube defects, cardiovascular and urinary anomalies and inappropriate cognitive skills later in life. The use of the medication is judged by the need as compared to the risk of exposure to the baby. In your case, since you have had the pregnancy loss accountable to epilepsy, anti-epileptic treatment is the only available option to sustain the pregnancy and to avert the epileptic attacks. Please select a hospital where you can get advanced neonatal and prenatal care and if possible admission for observation. Wish you good health.
