Will Taking Methy Dopa 500 Mg Help Relieve Hypertension?

hi.iam 27 yrs.eighth month of pregnancy.have hypertension 150/96.dr advised me methyl dopa 500 mg thrice daily.but my bp isnt comng down n i have frequent urination hrly in both day n night.is this drug side effect(urination)n y is bp nt comng down.i have reduced salt intake.non veg everythng also.plz advise.my mail id is YYYY@YYYY

Your anxiety is valid.
Bloodpressure increase can be controlled with only gradual increase in drugs as there is a growing baby which will be effected by a sudden drop in bp.
Salt restricted diet is not recommend.
Please take plenty of fluids and lie in left lateral position.
You will need regular ultrasound scan to monitor your baby.
Report any sudden change in symptoms to your doctor. Your doctor may consider adding another drug like nicardia.
