Hi, I am a 20 year old female and I have been having a lot of issues lately. It all started 2 years ago when I was diagnosed with mono and was put on steroids. After FINALLY getting better but still feeling very tired, I was able to get off of the steroids. But after this, about every 2 weeks I was get another really bad infection in my tonsils and have to be put back on the steroids because it s the only thing that worked. After being on and off steroids for about 6 months, my ENT decided to take my tonsils out which helped a lot. After this, I have been having breathing issues. I have been feeling out of breath all day but it is especially bad when I am laying down. My throat and chest feel tight and my neck muscles are soar, not like a sore throat, but deep tissue sore and tender. Also, when I try to talk a lot or sing, my throat starts to feel strained and it becomes hard to talk or sing. Sometimes swallowing is an issues as well. I have been refered to a cardiologist and back to my ENT but they both say everything looks normal. My ENT suggested it could be anxiety, put me on Xanax, but it did not make a change. I have been dealing with this issue for 1 year now and it is getting very frustrating. What are your suggestions of what it could be and what type of doctor I should see?
