Will Smoking During Early Pregnancy Cause Miscarriage?

I'm having a baby and I'm about 8 weeks along. Although I stopped smoking ciggs when I found out I was pregnant the past week I been smoking two a day about. I been freaking out that I maybe lost the baby pr something.. will this cazuse a misscarrage?

Hallow Dear,

I have gone through your dilemma.

Smoking, whether active or passive is known to cause equal harm to the body. The nicotine that enters the body due to smoking has a lot of harmful effects on pregnancy - right from the abortion, high blood pressure, intrauterine growth retardation up to pre term labour. You name the complication and nicotine does contribute to it. So please abandon the smoking totally and permanently to get a healthy bonny baby in your lap.
