Will Shaving The Head Lead To An Increase In The Thickness And Density Of Hair ?
how will shaving your head benefit the health and volume of your hair? Dear Doctor , I am a 24 year old female and I have very thin, soft hair and everyone keeps telling me that for a woman I have little hair so I have been considering shaving my head, will this help my hair grow thicker?
Hello;
welcome to HealthcareMagic
The thin hairs you have may be genetic that is even your mother/grandmother may be having thin hairs and if not please see-
- if you have suffered any disease like typhoid;malaria;after which the volume of hair is reduced due t hair fall.
-see if you get tired easily ;and have generalised weakness and if so you need to get investigated to find the cause like anaemia; or any thyroid problem like hypothyroid which can result in excessive hairfall.
If there is any problem like i have listed then you need to get treated and your hair volume will increase.So if you have hair fall then you can start on multivitamins;minerals and calcium tablets and if you have anaemia then even iron supplements.Also consult a skin specialist for help regarding hair growth.As far as shaving is concerned it may not help you much in increasing the volume.If you have any trouble get treated and the volume of hairs will increase.
Thanks
Thank you Dr., yes I have anaemia :) thank you for your great advice. I truly appreciate it
