Will Flagyl Suffice To Cure Abdominal Pain Caused By Diverticulitis?

What could shooting pain in upper abdomin/chest area and mid-upper back indicate? These pains are sharp shooting and get worse if laying down. Was seen in the ER and Dx with Diverticulosis and was given flagyl. Pain has not gotten any better. These pains don't seem to be a part of the Dx??? Gallbladder has been removed several years ago.

Hi. The pain in the areas you mentioned are more indicative of esophagitis and need the PPI/ Ranitidine , antacids and supportive medicines. Flagyl may not be sufficient. How was the diverticulitis diagnosed ?
