Will Drinking Coffee At Night Without Milk Cause Sleep Problems?

Is it true that if you drink coffee at night without milk it does not affect your sleep.
I have heard that milk is responsible for thje insomnia as it stops the body from breaking down the caffeine (or however you spell it). Similar to Italians drinking espresso at night.

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

Your question is interesting as it affects may people in the world.

Coffee contains caffeine, which is a CNS stimulant. This would lead to lack of sleep or insomnia. Therefore, it is advised that people should avoid coffee about 2-3 hours prior to their sleep time.

On the other hand, milk induces sleep. Therefore, there is no problem in drinking milk prior to sleep time. Milk would not cause insomnia.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
