Will Diabetics Cause Swollen Legs And Formation Of Pits?

hello doctor , my father is suffering from diabetes since 15 years , hypertension since 5 years and cirrohsis since last year ..... now his legs are swollen with formation of pits on applying pressure..... kindly help me what shall we do to cure him ?

Dear Sir, Hi! welcome to HCM. what you are talking is probably pitting edema or dependent edema. it can be due to
1. hypoproteinemia
2. Chronic kidney disease.
both diabetes and hypertension contribute to it. you must control diabetes and blood pressure. check his total serum proteins, kidney functions and urinary proteins as well. you need to see a doctor. regards!
