Will Diabetes During Pregnancy Harm Baby?
Hi Dr,
My wife is 36+ weeks preganat. she is diabetic since 4 weeks. she has been on insulin. Now Dr gave her 2 shots of 12mg betnesol. Now sugar shooted up and Insulin units increased from 24 to 48. still sugar leven 173 post dinner. any is any rick for baby

Hello sir,I understand your concern.In my opinion diabetes in pregnancy might lead to low sugars in baby,lung infections, excess weight in baby etc.Diet of your wife should be modified ie.,diabetic diet is to be given.Because diet plays much role in raising sugars.Dont worry.The sugars might come down post delivery.Keep an eye over the fetal movements.
