Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

Seems you have developed an irritant dermatitis secondary to dettol application, at the site of insect bite. As the dermatitis would heal, the dead skin would peel off revealing new skin.

Instead of using coconut oil, I would rather suggest you to apply a moderately potent topical steroid e,g fluticasone propionate cream, twice daily to the affected area. The topical steroid would hasten the recovery process and would make the dead skin soft and easy to peel off.
OR else you may just apply a good moisturizing cream twice daily.

regards
