Will Bupropion Will Help Quit Smoking?

HI, My Doctor prescribed bupropion sr 100mg. 1x per day to help me quit smoking. I didn t receive any literature from the pharmacy. Will taking once a day, in the morning help me? should I have gotten a larger dose? how long should I set for my quit date?

Hi,

Yes, bupropion helps in quitting smoking by reducing the craving that one feels for cigarettes. You should start at the dose prescribed by your doctor and set a quit date for around two weeks later. If you do not notice a reduction in your craving, inform your doctor and discuss about a hike in dosage.
