Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

I suspect that the digital nerve might have been injured that is producing typical shock like sensation during certain activities. This is considered to be a normal physiological response seen during the process of nerve regeneration.

Icing the involved area will be definitely helpful and keep doing it. The process will resolve spontaneously within 3-4 weeks. Till that time, no active intervention might be needed.

If your symptoms are not resolving, consult an orthosurgeon for further evaluation and management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
