Hi, my dad is 52 years old and he swollowed his artifical tooth by accident 5 days ago and it turned out the artifical tooth punched multiple holes in his small intestine, causing peritonitis. He had surgery yesterday, that they removed 15cm of his small intestine and cleaned the abdominal cavity. My dad is recovering now and his belly still hurts My questions are: 1) is the removal of 15cm small intestine a big thing, will this cause any problem for his future life?. 2) Is there anything I should pay special attention to, especially how & when can we be sure that all the holes in the intestine are healed? Thank you very much.
