Will MRI Done With IV Pain Medication Knock Out The Patient?
I went into have a mri done on my neck and couldn't make it through the test. There was a combination of things that got to me. I can't lay on my back for any amount of time as the pain radiates from the shoulder blade down the arm and then the tingling and numbness in my hand. The other issue was the washcloth over my eyes and the shield over that. I constantly have hot flashes and that made it even hotter so I started sweating. They pulled me out and reschedule with IV pain medication. Will this knock me out so I can get through the test?
IV pain medications are very safe for small procedures like MRI where the patient needs to be comfortably relaxed for about 20 minutes. It will make you comfortable enough and help in taking the required images without any technical problems. You may be aware but will not feel any discomfort.
