Hi Mathew, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
Most people who have HIV-AIDS
have no symptoms for several years after getting infected. Some people will have flu
symptoms within a few months after getting infected. The only way to find out if you have HIV is to get an HIV test
. It can detect antibodies
to HIV within 3-6 months after infection. More than 95% of people who have HIV will test positive within 3 months after getting infected. In very rare cases, it can take up to 6 months for someone to test positive.
First confirm it whether your wife is actually infected with HIV as there is no way you can escape from getting infected if you don't use condom while having sex with a infected person. Get a repeat HIV testing done in her.
Good Luck and wish you Good Health, Take Care.
