Will Brintellix Drug Leads To Anxiety And Depression?

HI I m on 10 mg Brintellix for three weeks. It is making my anxiety and depression so bad. I have suicidal thoughts cause this anxiety is very bad. Should I go up to 20 mg and give it more time. Also, will sam - e be okay to take with it? I don t feel any better. I am afraid of side effects also.

hello user , thank you for contacting HCM for your health related query - Brintellix (Voritoxetine) is a drug which is used to treat major depressive disorders , and you mentioned that you are using it since 3 weeks on 10 mg dosage - and not feeling well yet.Most of the antidepressants however take about 4-6 weeks to be acting more effectively-but My advice to you is to seek consultation with your prescribing doctor soon , instead of the scheduled visit as you are also having suicidal thoughts . The prescribing doctor would be then able to rate your improvement/worsening and then able to make suitable changes like either changing the drug / increasing the dose/augmenting with some add on medicine or behaviour therapy . increasing the dose by your own is not advisable. S-adenosyl methionine do not generally has any major drug interaction with brintellix , but again your prescribing doctor would be able to decide more precisely , so do inform him/her about this medicine and other medicines that are nor prescribed by him/her .
