Why Was Xanax And Clonazepam Prescribed?

Hi I currently take Xanax and Clonzepam. I smoke marijuana recreational and it seems to be the cause of left chest and right upper back by the spine pain. The obvious would be to stop smoking but why was I prescribed these medications? most recently it felt as if the center of my chest right where my heart is was being squeezed like a fist. please help

I cannot say in your particular case not having your patient chart

And

the symptoms are those often seen in panic attacks. And people with panic attacks have these symptoms helped by benzodiazepines. There's not a lot of reason to give someone two versions of the same medicine (benzodiazepine) so, I wouldn't understand why anyone would get BOTH at the same time. Furthermore, there is not a lot of interaction (not in a bad way) between marijuana and benzodiazepine, so, one could see if symptoms were panic attack (helped by benzodiazepine) or lung inflammation (not helped by benzodiazepine).
