Why There Were Red Stringy Pieces In My Urine?

Hi. I am 39 yrs old, 6"0" Tall, male, approx. 220 lbs. and I had a vasectomy approx. 11 months ago. Medical history is generally clear otherwise. Yesterday I saw small red stringy pieces in my urine at the start of urination two times in a row. I exercised in the morning (push ups and bicycle exercises - fairly intense - 3 sets each) and I think I was a little dehydrated during the day (urine was a little cloudy, didn't drink any water after workout but drank coffee). How alarmed should I be? Thank you.

Urologist 's  Response
Hi
Irrespective of any amount of exercise, you should not be passing any reddish pieces in urine.
I suggest you have an ultrasound examination of KUB, complete blood picture, serum creatinine and complete urine examination.
You might be required to get special investigation such as CT scan of KUB but that decision can be made after the initial investigation results are available.
I find this answer helpful
