Why There Was A Brown Old Blood Discharge After The Abortion?
i had an abortion jan 4 and was clotting really bad and the pills they gave me to take to contract my uterus i didnt take because of bad pains so i went to the hospital and they said my uterus had blood in it not tissue so i called the place that did the abortion and they told me to take the pills and it would help to contract the blood out well i did and the bleeding stopped then today there was brown old blood but not alot so is it something to worry about
After the abortion, the uterus contracts to expel all the blood and if any separated tissue is present in the uterine cavity. Improperly contracted uterus will continue to trickle inside the uterine cavity and the collected blood will come out eventually as brown (old) blood.
If ultrasonography has shown that the uterine cavity does not contain any tissue or parts of products of conception and contains only some blood clots, they will come out after the medicines given to you for contracting the uterus.
Unless the uterus contracts firmly, the bleeding will not stop. Therefore, though these medicines give you pain in abdomen, it is due to the uterus contracting. So please bear the pains but take the medicines to contract the uterus otherwise you will continue to bleed. If the pains are too intolerable, you can take some painkiller like paracetomol or so.
I hope this guides you precisely.
