Why the doctor has suggested for muscle biopsy?

I have an abnormal ck reading and my doctor wants to do a muscle biopsy what are they looking for

High level of Creatinine kinase shows some damage in the muscles of skeletal or heart or brain.
To confirm the site of damage they go for muscle biopsy.
