Why The TSH Is High Despite Free T$ Being Normal ?
I am a female aged 44 years. I have hypo thyroid and have been taking euthyrox (Levothyroxine sodium) for the last 7 years. The dosage is 62 mcg daily. Recently I got my blood tested and my TSH is 7.59 with Free T4 1.39. Pls suggest as to why the TSH is high despite free T$ being normal.

TSH is a hormone which regulates T3 and T4..whenever the levels are low TSH is increased in the body to get T3,T4 within normal limits..your T4 is normal because OF TSH hypersecretion..thats the reason TSH values are important in diagnosis..
Hello sudeep ;
welcome to HealthcareMagic
The level of TSH is high which is suggestive that you still have hypothyroid and the dose of medicine you are taking is probably not exact and it may need to be increased.Also see if you have associated weight gain in last couple of months if yes please consult your doctor with the report and he may do the required adjustment of dose if he feels it is needed.
Thanks
