Why Skin Is Brownish After Scratching Mosquito Bite?

I had a mosquito bite on my right upper arm about 3 years ago. I was bad and scratched at it. Eventually, the skin became brownish around the original bite area and has stayed that way. What causes my skin to permanently stay brownish in color?. I have tried skin creams, but nothing seems to make it go away. It also seems that my skin is scarring from things such as scratches, bug bites, etc.

Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Hyperpigmentation following minor injuries like bites and scratches could be due to hypersensitivity reaction and intense inflammation at time of injury.

Local application of demelanizing agent like Hydroquinone may help reduce the Hyperpigmentation.

Application of mild steroid ointment like clobetasone avoiding face will help prevent Hyperpigmentation

I hope it helped

In case you require any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take care
