Why Not Getting Period After Stopping Lupron Depot Shot?

Hi, I was taking 6 month 3.75 lupron depot shot. My last injection was on December, 2nd. I still haven't got my period back yet. After the last injection, I am keeping having the pregnancy symptoms such as breast tendering and feeling tired. I took the home pregnancy test. Always, negative results. Start from two weeks ago, my uterus start start having period pain. I don't know what to do right now. Should I visit my specialist or keep waiting for my period coming back? I am not feeling well right now.

Although the Depo shot is only guaranteed to last for three months, in many women it can take a little loner before it wears off completely and you start having periods again. Sometimes even as long as three to six additional months, although it usually doesn't take that long. The reason is because everyone's body metabolizes the drug differently. So it is not abnormal not to have a period for a few extra months. since your cycles are starting to come back to natural cycles now, the symptoms you are having are likely due to hormonal fluctuations as your body gets back to normal. You will most likely have your period in the next few weeks. Occasionally, some women get pregnant even before they see a period. So for now, you just need to wait and see how things go, and if another few months go by without a period, and you're still not pregnant, you should call your doctor to make sure it isn't something else. I hope this was helpful, please let me know if you have any more questions.
