My throat hurts mainly at night when lying down or at other times but pretty much just when lying down or turning and stretching my neck. I don't really have a cough or congestion. This has been going on for about two weeks. It helps sometimes when I take some Tylenol.

As per your query you pain in throat and stretching of neck while lying down , well there can be many reasons for symptom you mention in query like bruxism , TMJ problem , stress and anxiety , sore throat or muscle spasm. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do stretching exercises of neck and jaw muscles , apply warm compresses on jaw and neck muscles and try to make yourself relax. You should visit general physician/ orthopedician once. Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , anti inflammatory. Doctor may also give you night guard and sedatives. Consult oral surgeon for proper diagnosis . Doctor will examine the bite plane , order CT scan or x-ray. Avoid intake of oily and fried food and drink plenty of water. You should take small meals and frequent meals rather than large.
