Why My Child Is Not Answering To My Questions?

My son is4.5 years old. Studying in ukg.he is active.he can counts ..name objects..identify shapes..but always uses short sentences(3words)to communicate..but some times he keeps talking about things he sees on the road....If we haveneighbours at home..he does not answer a single question asked to him...should I be concerned

I went through your details. Your son is 4.5 years. In the pre KG. He is in a developmental stage named pre-operational stage. His development is limited based on his ego and security related aspects. He is able to count, identify object, colors, shapes, sing rhymes, imitate actions etc. Talking to neighbors depends on their behavior. He should be having stranger anxiety. Based on the neighbors behavior his attitude changes. Nothing to worry. He is not behaving in a particular set manner with everyone outside the home, isn't it? Then nothing to worry about.
