Why Is There Pain In Legs And Ankles?

I m a 36 year old female.. at night & during the day my legs & anckles hurt.I have to constantly move my feet , strech my legs out or pop the knuckles in my toes to relieve the tention & mild pain but as soon as I do it the discomfert immediatly returns. The samething with my hands as well...my question is what is causing this?
