Hi, I have gone through your question. You and your husband are dealing with the problem of 'unexplained infertility', which is present in about 30% of the infertile couples. In this problem, all the tests of both partners are normal, still they are unable to conceive by natural method. The treatment for it is stepwise:
1. Ovulation with drugs.
2. IUI
3. IVF or ICSI ( artificial reproductive techniques)
Usually doctors move to next step when the previous one fails.
Upto 6 cycles of IUI are recommended in unexplained infertility before moving on to IVF. IUI has success rate of 30%.Therefore, it is necessary that conception occurs in each cycle.
Early IVF is recommended (after 3 cycles of IUI) in females with advanced age (>35 years).
Since you are still 24 years of age,I would recommend you to undergo three more cycles of IUI before moving on to IVF.
Hope your question is answered. You can get back to us for further queries.
Wishing you good health
