Why Is It Itching In The Scalp?

Hi I ve had a one month prostap injection 4 days ago and now I can t stop itching. There is no rash that I can see and the worst of the itch is confined to my scalp. Is this normal and is there anything I can do/take to relieve this symptom? Also suffering lots of hot flushes!

Hi and welcome to HCM
If this is your first injection and you noticed itching after it, you are mostly allergic to the drug or some component in the injection. It is known to cause a reaction in few patients.
Hot flushes are also one of the side effects. If you are only suffering from itching with no rashes, fever, swelling, breathlessness or other severe symptoms, you can take an antihistamine such as Levovetrizine or fexofenadine for the itching once daily for 5-7 days till itching subsides.
You can also apply a menthol based lotion or calamine on the skin 2-3 times a day.
Keep a note of the common side effects and if they persist consult your doctor regarding alternative in case the symptoms are unbearable or severe.
