Why Is Fasting Blood Test Advised While On BP Medication?
Why need fasting lab? I just requested to get my blood pressure med to b refilled. My dr left msg saying its refilled n ready to b picked up then mentioned that I need to come in for fasting lab which is new to me. Won't get an answer til tmw, but can't wait. Can you explain please if have any idea? Thx!!!

Usually lipid profile needs to be done in fasting to get accurate results.
May be your doctor wants to do Fasting lipid profile that's why he asked you or it can be fasting glucose level aswell.
It is necessary to keep an eye on lipid and cholesterol status in a hypertensive patient like you.
