Why Is ILD In An Old Person Causing Suffocation And Loss Of Appetite?
my mother at her age 83 is very much enimik and suddenly developed ILD problem / she is on Foracart and tablet Lazine, Uicoutin , her apatite is dropping down and is on bed - she is finding suffocation the movement goes for urination and feels discomfort - is there any treatment or she has to be on medicare only -pl advise
Unfortunately with ILD there are few treatments. The medicines she is taking now may help symptoms a little but do not cure it. What the disease does is affects the lungs so all the breathing passages are partially blocked, so that oxygen cannot pass easily into the blood. The severe anemia makes this problem worse because there is not enough blood to carry the oxygen that does get there. Giving her oxygen may ease her discomfort. She doesn't have much appetite because of how sick she is and how difficult it is to breathe. Again, oxygen may ease some of her symptoms. Unfortunately there is not much more that can be done. Hope this answers your query.
