Why Has Swelling On The Stitches Area Of A Child's Lip Been Persistent?

My son bit the inside of his lower lip last night it quit bleeding so we didn't take him in for stitches, however today it is still swollen and there is a piece of skin about a 1/2 inch sticking out and it has a yellow tint to it. Should I take him in I'm worried about infection

thanks for your query, i have gone through your query. the swollen lip could be because of the inflammation. it is better to put sutures so that the cut wound heals faster with minimal scarring and less chances of infection. consult a oral surgeon and get it sutured. do saline gargling take antinflammatory drugs to reduce swelling and pain. i hope my answer will help you. take care.
