Hello and welcome to HCM,
Presence of blood in urine does not suggest
urinary tract infection (UTI).
UTI is characterized by burning urination and increased frequency of urination most commonly.
If burning urination is present, UTI is likely.
You need to get a urine routine examination, esterase test and nitrite test.
If the above tests are positive for infection, UTI is confirmed and a course of antibiotic is required.
In case none of the tests is positive for infection, other lesions of the
kidney and urinary tract need to be found out.
There is a set of diseases called
glomerulonephritis which leads to passage of blood in urine.
Thus, kidney function tests need to be done.
