i woke up this morning with a weird feeling in my eye. If feels like someone punched me in the eye but of course that did not happen. My eye does not hurt, But it feels Irritated and bruised. Can it be because i spend a good amount of time on my phone?

Telephone does not effect vision. Since you are feeling irritated it may be dry eye Use artificial tear drop like refresh tear for twice daily. Further get your eye examined by eye doctor, for examination and proper advise.
