Why Do Preventive Medicines Cause Side Effects?

Are GPs fully behind preventative medicine or are they following a Dept of Health/Government policy?? All medication has side effects. Take Asprin for instance. Research now reveals that the preventative purpose, in many cases is causing stomach and other problems. Likewise with statins. In many cases it would appear preventative medicine is misleading patients

Thank you for the question. A GP is a certified doctor approved by Govt. and has all requisite qualifications to prescribe medicines.medicines whether prescribed by GP or a specialist or super-specialist in a hospital are both class- curative, preventive. At all levels , medicines are usually common and for any medicine there is some chance of side-effects,which the manufacturer and Govt. have labelled under precautions list in the cover of medicines. side effects vary person to person depending on individual body and its internal biochemical environment, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics ofany drug and is ften unpredictibe.clinically , when patient gives a subjective feedback on his response to med. or its side effects , doctor usually weigh the benefits and severity of effects and may change the salt or medicine. So kindy trust doctors and drug policies of govt.
