Why Do I Have High Blood Pressure?

I am a 34 yr old fit female who exercises regularly. Lately my blood pressure has been running 140/90. I cant figure out why. Im not taking any new meds. The only differences in my life are that I went off birth control recently, been taking miralax, taking acidophylis, and vitamin B. Can any of these cause HBP? Also I am a very relaxed person. It does run in my family but usually not this young. I have been getting very flushed lately also.

Hi,
Thanks for query,
Nothing to worry, your bp is not much.
Keep regular bp check up for some time and keep record,if it remain high then consult your doctor and go for investigations like,S. cholesterol, lipid profile, blood sugar,ECG.
Afterward start treatment.
Avoid stress and strain of life.
Take low fat and carbohydrate food.
Ok and bye.

Cardiologist Dr. Naresh Ruparelia's  Response
Hi well come to HCM.
It could be due to change in life style partly, or it could have genetic relations.Your
none of the drugs seems to be responsible for this. Do not jump to medical treatment
unless it remains persistantly high. You definately have high BP looking at the age, could
have been acceptable even at the age of 40.Get done frequent check up and observe
the range and in case of need can have drug like atenolol, metoprolol etc. Change your
life style like dietary restriction and exerxise may orovide you some benefit. Thanks
