Why Do I Have Painful Knees After Taking Metformin Post Angioplasty?

I am having type 2 diabetics and being administered metformin 1mg twice,Glimipride 1/2mg once. Apart I being a heart patient having undergone Angioplasty with two stunts takes medicine as well advised to walk daily. How ever for the last one week pain is being developed on both of my knees. is it because of the metformins side effect.

Hi,

It could be as a result of some joint problems. I would advise you to take Ibuprofen 400mg twice daily for couple of days.
If the pain doesn't disappear I would advise you to see your doctor to perform some tests, such as knee X-Rays.
