Why Do I Feel Numbness In My Back?

Hello, I fractured my T12 4 yrs ago which was misdiagnosed for 6 wks. I have been going for deep tissue massage which really helps the stiffness, my therapist would normally do trigger pointing on some areas of my back but recently I am completely numb all over my back, I can only feel pressure. What do you think it is?

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms could be related a pinched nerve or a damaged nerve in this region, probably related to the fractured T12.

For this reason, I would recommend performing a nerve conduction study to exclude this possibility. You should discuss with your doctor on this issue.

Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards, Dr. Aida
