Why Are Opogest Tablets Prescribed During Pregnancy?
Dear Expert Doctors,
I've one query.. Could you please help me in this regard...
My wife is pregnant.7 weeks 1 day.
Doctor suggested to use OPOGEST-200 tablets for 30 days @2/day.
My wife's age is 24 years.
The follwoing are scanning results:

Gravid Uterus With a fundal gestational sac seen.
Decidual reaction is good.
Decidual contour is regular.
No e/o subchorionic bleed seen.
Mean gest.sac diameter (MSD) is 27 mm = 8wks 0 day.
Single live fetus seen.CRL 10.1 mm = 7 wks 1 day.
Heart beats well seen. FHR: 156 BPM.
Fetal movements well seen.
int.os closed. Cx- 4.4cms.
Uterine wall - Normal.
Ovaries: Normal.
U.Bladder - is Normal.
LMP: 22-09-2011 EDC by LMP : 29-06-2012 POA : 8 wks 1 day
EDC by Scan : 06-07-2012 GA by scan: 7 wks 1 day
IMPRESSION:Intrauterine pregnancy with a single live fetus of 7 wks 1 day.

Hi, I have gone through your question. Opogest is progesterone which supports the pregnancy by making uterine environment more favourable for foetus. It is not harmful for either mother or foetus and can be safely given throughout the pregnancy.
The ultrasound report you have mentioned is completely normal.
I suggest you to not to worry and follow your doctor's advice.
