Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Why Am I Having A Rumbling Gurgling Sound Under Bottom Of Left Rib Cage?
I have a rumbling gurgling sound under my bottom of left rib cage especially when I take a deep breath in a sitting position its four fingers above and four fingers to the left of my belly button. Not so much when i am standing. You can feel a flutter or gurgle if you put your hand there and can hear it as well. What could this be?
The area you are referring to is most probably the area over the stomach. And if so then this rumbling and gurgling sound that you are getting is of water or any other fluid that you have ingeate. If we ingest little bit more fuids then this kind of sound may be heard due to peristalsis of stomach i.e. stomach digestive movements. These sounds are harmless and they decrease after some time as the fluid is either reabsorbed or goes ahead towards intestine.
