Why Am I Getting Thick Mucous Light Green Colour From The Nose?

Hi, have gases with bad smell since today morning. The usual problem I have is stuffy nose thick mucus light green visible. Headache n sour throat. I m a very regular for throat pain mucus. Please help. I often end up being prescribed antibiotics. Today since have upset tummy m burping sourness is observed

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of thick mucous light green colour from the nose which is due to inflammation in the sinus or nasal lining. It is very common occurrence due to persistence of infection. Need not to worry much and you should consult an ENT specialist once and get evaluated. Start treatment after complete examination. You should sleep with head slightly raised so that the sinus can easily clear off. You should take antibiotics like Augmentin or Azithromycin along with anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and decongestant nasal sprays. you should take mucolytics like Ambroxol. Saline nasal spray can help in loosening the mucus and easy draining. Do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room.
