Why Am I Having Lightheadedness, Faintiness, Tingling And Numbness In Hands After Changing Eating Habits And BP Medicine?

Hello, in Novemeber my doctor prescribed me a new medication to help control my high bp (metropolol). I was already taking lorsartan and amlodipine. I also have type 2 diabetes and take metformin and glimipride. I decided to adopt a whole, plant based diet and have lost a total of 37 lbs. (21 were the result of out of control diabetes prior to changing my eating habits. I felt wonderful at first - energetic, alert and healthy - but for the past few days I ve felt light-headed, faint and my hands have been tingling and numb. Could it be that I am taking too much medicine? Last time I checked my bp at the store it was still high 149/90, but that s been a few weeks ago. I ve brought my bg down from nearly 400 to 182 and my resting pulse down from the high 90s to high 70s and low 80s.

Hello & Welcome To HCM,
I studied your case and i found that these symptoms might be changing of your Blood Pressure medicine or due to low blood sugar level. So step by step you can find the solution.First check your blood sugar level, HbA1c.If It is low then your diabetic medicine will reduce. second if sugar level is normal or high then take your old blood pressure medicine.Take diabetic diet. Do not go for crash dieting.Hope my answer will be effective for you.
